OH Medical has an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Health Manager role based in Barrow-in-Furness. This full-time post involves working on-site for one of the UK's leading Occupational Health Providers. Your week will consist of shifts from Monday to Thursday, 7.15am - 4pm, and Friday, 7.15am to 11.45am.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction and clinical leadership to the wider Occupational Health Team, ensuring the delivery of a first-class health and wellbeing service.
  • Help to shape and refine clinical pathways in line with best practice and evidence-based care.
  • Collaborate with directors and managers to implement company objectives, from reviewing clinical competencies to updating key materials.
  • Lead and support the clinical team to meet the wider goals of occupational health services.
  • Foster a positive, values-led team culture where colleagues feel supported and empowered.
  • Develop and support wellbeing initiatives and service improvements tailored to client needs and business goals.
  • Play a key role in the recruitment, onboarding, and induction of new team members across the multidisciplinary team.
  • Coordinate staffing resources, manage shift cover, and maintain a strong skill mix within the team.
  • Carry out regular clinical reviews, audits, and competency assessments, including probation meetings and annual appraisals.
  • Work closely with the management team to oversee daily clinical operations and resolve issues or conflicts.
  • Use clinical data and reporting tools to demonstrate service impact, strengthen client relationships, and support continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, serviced, calibrated, and replaced as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant policies, health and safety legislation, and industry standards such as SEQOHS.
  • Prioritise clinical and occupational health cases based on risk and business needs.
  • Provide clinical mentorship, support, and oversight to the wider OH team, ensuring high standards across all areas of practice.

Requirements:

  • A Registered Nurse with the NMC.
  • From a clinical background in A&E or Emergency Care with hands-on experience in fast-paced settings.
  • Postgraduate experience in Occupational Health is essential.
  • A proven leader with team management skills, confident in guiding and supporting others.
  • Comfortable using IT systems, navigating clinical and administrative platforms.
  • Possessing an in-depth understanding of professional and specialist occupational health issues.
  • An excellent communicator, both written and verbal, capable of liaising effectively with employees and stakeholders.
  • Highly proactive, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Organised, able to prioritise workload, stay motivated, and meet deadlines.
  • Empathetic and customer-focused, understanding how to support individuals professionally.
