This is a wonderful opportunity to gain experience of working in an educational environment, supporting learners to enable them to reach their full potential. We have a range of courses aimed at adult learners such as bespoke courses for those with Special Educational Needs, ESOL learners where English is not their first language and also 16-19 year old vocational courses.

The volunteer will gain experience of working within a classroom environment receiving direction and support from the tutor. You will acquire new skills that are transferable to enhance future job opportunities. The college is on local transport routes and is situated opposite Southend East Rail station. There is also free onsite parking and a cafeteria. Free training is given prior to commencing this role.

Skills:

  • L2 Math’s and English including ICT skills would be desirable along with experience of supporting others.
  • For those lacking ICT skills, the college offers an entry-level course that can be accessed free of charge (this is not a compulsory requirement).

A DBS certificate is a legal requirement, this will be applied and paid for by the college. For DBS checks to be completed, the applicant has to have been living in the U.K for a minimum of 5 years (or two years and proof of address for 3 years in previous country).

  • Morning sessions from 9am - 13.00hrs
  • Afternoon sessions from 13.00 - 15.30 hrs
  • All day from 9am- 15.30 hrs Monday - Thursday
