The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Trade Compliance Administrator at 3M UK, Skelmersdale plant, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

Here, you will make an impact by:

• Handling all UK Customs Self Filing & Transit activities for the Skelmersdale site
• Communicating regularly with senior management, HMRC, and other agencies to ensure compliance
• Ensuring smooth processing of Customs entries within SAP/GTS
• Checking declarations for accuracy and timeliness
• Notifying HMRC of irregularities
• Applying for Customs approvals and licenses
• Ensuring compliance with internal Trade Policies
• Preparing Customs declaration reports
• Communicating with HMRC on business inquiries
• Creating and analyzing Trade Compliance reports and processes
• Participating in Trade Compliance projects
• Supporting audits

Your Skills and Expertise

To succeed, candidates should have:

• Proven experience in Import/Export clearances
• Knowledge of customs declaration requirements
• Experience with HTS classification, origin, FTA, IPR, OPR, export controls
• Knowledge of customs legislation and HMRC tariffs
• Ability to stay updated and adapt quickly
• GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
• Analytical and process-minded
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to work under pressure
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in teams

Nice-to-have skills include:

• Qualifications in Customs and Trade Compliance
• International Trade training
