Lecturer of Art and Design Role Description Newcastle College invites applications from dedicated and enthusiastic individuals passionate about education and student progression. We seek a qualified and dynamic person to join as a Lecturer. You will deliver and assess high-quality learning experiences, monitor student retention and progress, and implement interventions to ensure targets are met. Effective communication with parents/guardians, external agencies, and colleagues in curriculum and support teams is essential. You will promote high standards in teaching and learning, fostering a supportive environment for student success. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude are vital for supporting student development. Maintaining composure in challenging situations will help create a nurturing learning environment. The ideal candidate will have an honours degree or equivalent. A post-16 teaching qualification and Level 2 English and maths qualifications are preferred, or a commitment to achieve these. Experience in FE, HE, or Apprenticeships, with a proven teaching and assessment record, is desirable. Strong communication skills, digital literacy, and the ability to manage workload and meet deadlines are required. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends may be needed.
