This role suits an experienced engineer ready to step up into a more senior position, delivering instrumentation and control (I&C) engineering support across the full project lifecycle in high-hazard environments.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Deliver instrumentation and control system design in line with engineering standards and safety requirements.
  • Contribute to the complete engineering lifecycle – from concept through installation and commissioning.
  • Lead or participate in technical risk assessments, including HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, and RAMS studies.
  • Oversee procurement activities including specification development, technical evaluation, and supplier coordination.
  • Provide field engineering support for troubleshooting and system optimization.
  • Ensure hazardous area instrumentation complies with design and regulatory standards.
  • Supervise and guide contractors during design and construction phases.
  • Support control systems programming and ensure adherence to industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree in Instrumentation, Control, or a relevant discipline.
  • CompEx 12A & 12B preferred for hazardous area competency.

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in I&C engineering design.
  • Proven experience across design, installation, commissioning phases.
  • Strong understanding of hazardous area design and compliance.
  • Solid knowledge of control systems programming and integration.
  • Experience managing contractors and interfacing with cross-functional teams.

Competencies:

  • Strong technical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
  • Well-versed in UK and international engineering standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within project deadlines.
