Person Specification

  • Educational Qualifications / State Registrations
  • Essential Criteria: The UK's Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) level 2 qualifications including Maths and English.
  • Desirable Criteria: Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Knowledge and Experience
  • Essential Criteria: Understand the role of the dietitian. Interest in nutrition and health care. Previous experience working and communicating with the public. Basic knowledge of some conditions that could impact nutrition and hydration in adults, relevant to the role. Good working knowledge of IT e.g., Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, e-mail, and internet.
  • Desirable Criteria: Work experience in a healthcare setting with nutritional related tasks.
  • Clinical Skills / Abilities
  • Essential Criteria: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good organisational / planning / prioritisation skills. Ability to work as part of a team. Reliable and capable of working with confidential information. Commitment to ongoing continuous development, personal development, and appraisal. Able to adapt to working in different specialities and different environments e.g., hospital wards, outpatients.
  • Desirable Criteria: Presentation skills. Participation in health promotion.
