We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Workshop Assistant to join a leading and growing manufacturing company based near Christchurch.

The primary role of the Workshop Assistant will involve supporting across the manufacturing site with a variety of duties.

Responsibilities:
  • Keeping all manufacturing areas clean, with a regular cleaning schedule.
  • Keep buildings and site in a clean and orderly condition including yard maintenance (hedge trimming, debris removal).
  • Ensuring the entire site is well maintained, notifying management of the need for repairs and general maintenance tasks to be carried out.
  • Waste management including shop floor general waste, recycling waste, metal swarf management including segregation and hazardous waste (oil).
  • Drain and clean slurry from machines annually.
  • Forklift operation to move goods, materials and scrap/swarf bins within the factory and yard, loading or storage area.
  • Work to all H&S procedures and processes.
Ideal Experience:

The ideal candidate will be happy to get stuck in with a variety of duties and be a self-motivator. Any previous experience as a handyman or general site hand would be beneficial.
