Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) school in North Tyneside and Northumberland. This position creates a fantastic opportunity for classroom development and a great way to get further exposure and experience.

The successful LSA will have transferable knowledge skills from a recent and relevant role. This role will include working with children from Key Stage 1 through to 4 and will involve working 1:1 and in small groups. The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday from 8:30am until 4:30pm and is a long-term position.

The Successful LSA Will Have:

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service, or the willingness to obtain one
  • An ability to follow instructions, school's policies and procedures
  • Transferable knowledge skills from a recent and relevant role
  • Patience, compassion and a genuine interest for the well-being of all children
  • The ability to support the teacher with planning lessons and activities within the educational setting
  • A proactive personality and can assist with the preparation of materials for lessons
  • Supervision skills towards the students during activities and outings
  • Skills such as providing good communication towards staff members, parents, and carers
