HR Business Partner for Trouw Nutrition Ireland (Europe & Central Asia)
Join Our Purpose - Feeding the Future. Nutreco is a member of the SHV family, and we are committed to 'Feeding the Future' through sustainable and innovative practices. Nutreco has two business lines: Skretting is a leading global provider of innovative aquafeed solutions, revolutionizing aquaculture for a sustainable future. Trouw Nutrition specializes in animal nutrition and is committed to advancing livestock health and productivity through cutting-edge solutions.
We are looking for a highly motivated HR Business Partner to join our team in Belfast, supporting our operations and team in Ireland. This is a pivotal role within the Trouw Nutrition business, combining tactical, operational HR support and deep local HR expertise. You will be joining a dynamic and collaborative HR community, playing a critical role in driving the people’s agenda forward in line with business priorities.
As an HR Business Partner, you’ll serve as a local key strategic advisor to the Ireland business, while also ensuring compliance with local employment legislation across Ireland. You will act as a catalyst for change, engaging with local leaders to translate global and regional people’s strategies into impactful, localized execution. The Ireland site employs approximately 70 people and is part of the ECA cluster (Europe & Central Asia), with a manufacturing footprint across 11 countries.
Although ECA’s operating model is functionally driven via cross-collaboration through a connected species-approach supported by a strategic marketing organization, strong country-level HR partnering is essential to ensure compliance, build local engagement, enable effective execution of the strategy, encourage collaboration between departments, drive customer satisfaction and local projects.
About The Role Responsibilities:
- Manage and cascade global HR initiatives, tailoring them to local needs.
- Ensure adherence to local employment legislation across Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland, managing areas such as policy harmonisation and compliance, disciplinary and grievance procedures, absence and leave management, among others.
- Champion and support facilitating the annual people cycle (performance reviews, talent development, succession planning).
- Lead local efforts in talent acquisition, onboarding, retention, and engagement.
- Identify development opportunities and support the growth of individuals and teams.
- Act as a change agent, driving cultural alignment and supporting the transformation agenda at the Belfast site.
- Primarily support, collaborate and work with GB HRBP and secondary broader European HRBPs to align cross-border projects and initiatives.
Skills and Expertise Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3+ years’ experience in an HR Business Partner or HR generalist role within a manufacturing organisation.
- Deep understanding of Irish labour laws, in both Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland, and statutory requirements.
- Proven experience in driving change, coaching leaders, and enhancing organisational capability.
Expectation for the Role:
- Partner with local and functional leadership and the wider ECA HR team to translate strategic business objectives into actionable HR plans.
- Drive organizational effectiveness, people capability development, and employee engagement.
- Coach and support local and functional leaders in their people management responsibilities.
Why You Will Love Working with Us:
- A full-time position in an international, dynamic environment.
- Competitive remuneration package, good pension scheme, and 26 vacation days plus bank holidays.
- Opportunities for professional growth within Nutreco and the broader SHV group.
Next Steps:
We value a seamless candidate experience and would like to respond within 10 business days. The hiring process typically takes 4-6 weeks. We appreciate your interest in joining our mission to innovate and sustainably shape the future of food production.
