We are looking for a General Manager for a fantastic community pub in Monk Bretton, Barnsley. Salary up to £42k plus bonus and a generous benefits package. Marston’s is one of the UK’s largest and most beloved pub chains and today, we operate more than 1,300 pubs, bars and hotels.
The Norman Inn in Monk Bretton is a popular community local with a strong food offering and our community pub menu with pizza oven. Currently trading at a 60/40 split in favour of wet with average weekly takings of £20,000, the site benefits from a real mixed demographic. There is a real community feel to the pub and someone who can embed themselves in the community to drive engagement and manage a good events and entertainment schedule will support additional growth. The pub functions via an open plan central bar with TVs for terrestrial sports and there is also a pool table. To the rear of the pub is a large garden with 100 covers and a children's play area. There is also outdoor seating at the front of the pub. The Norman Inn also benefits from a large carpark that can be utilised for event space.
There is almost a full team structure in place, apart from a head chef vacancy for an incoming General Manager to hit the ground running. With limited competition in the area, especially for a food offer, there is bags of opportunity to grow this site. Management accommodation is available in the form of 3 bedrooms and living area.
