Alpha is seeking to hire a mid-level Localization Project Manager to oversee clients in the Japanese gaming industry. The ideal candidate should be fluent in English and Japanese at a native or business level. The position can be based in our Tokyo or Shanghai office, in the Philippines, or in Barcelona and Cambridge offices with slightly adjusted office hours, starting from 6 or 7 AM to accommodate the JST time zone. Solid experience with CAT tools and LQA management required. Experience in the games industry and localization of video games, trade card games, AAA/MMORPG titles is a must.

Tasks

  • Communication: Independently manage localization projects, day-to-day communication with clients and internal and external localization teams
  • Scheduling: Manage localization schedules and project milestones
  • Production: Allocate assets to production teams and provide proactive support, removing project blockers
  • Coordination: Be the bridge between internal and external teams, games experts, language leads, engineers, QA testers, audio recording studios and clients
  • Finance: Manage and track budgets, margins, purchase orders and invoices
  • Reporting: Report key data and escalations to Program Manager

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in localization project management
  • Knowledge of CAT tools, ideally MemoQ, Phrase, XTM and Redokun
  • Used to working with diverse, multicultural teams (internal and external/remote)
  • Previous experience working with video game publishing house or specialized LSP
  • Experience in games releases (localization) a major plus
  • Great project management skills
