Position: IT Operations Engineer (Contract) – Southampton – £160–£180 per day (Inside IR35)

Type: Rolling Contract | On-site | Immediate Start

Role Overview

We’re seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to join a leading company’s Southampton office. This role is ideal for an IT professional who enjoys hands-on work, troubleshooting, and maintaining smooth tech operations in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily IT support to office staff (desktops, laptops, mobile devices, Wi-Fi, printers, AV equipment)
• Set up and configure Windows and Mac devices
• Troubleshoot and maintain office networks and hardware
• Act as the first point of escalation for technical issues
• Support small tech projects and office fit-outs/upgrades
• Collaborate with wider technology teams across Europe

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in a similar IT support / TechOps role
• Proficiency supporting Windows 10, Mac OS, and iOS devices
• Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, networks, and AV setups
• Certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco, or equivalent (e.g., MCSA, CCNA) are a plus
• Basic networking knowledge (Wi-Fi, patch panels, cabling)
• Excellent communication skills — able to explain technical issues clearly
• Organized, proactive, and team-oriented
• Familiarity with project management principles and ITIL practices
• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira (bonus)
