The Data Systems Manager/Lead will work with designated departments within Pragmatic Semiconductor to develop and administer the organisation’s database systems. The role includes providing customer insight, business intelligence architecture, and provisioning data for reporting and analysis services to internal and external stakeholders. Reporting to the Director of Smart Factory, this role will oversee policies and procedures related to Manufacturing IT, especially data security.
Key tasks
- Database Management & Reporting
- Act as system administration lead for all manufacturing-related databases (SQL and Oracle), ensuring data integrity and hygiene through overall management and supervision.
- Create and maintain an internal roadmap for OLAP (Data Warehouse, Datamart) development.
- Establish and chair an internal Data Systems User Group, identifying key stakeholders and super users across the organisation on Data Strategy and OLAP roadmap.
- Manage and implement annual upgrades of database systems, creating testing plans to ensure thorough testing before deployment.
- Coordinate with internal IT Support/external IT providers for timely upgrades.
- Support and develop manufacturing OLTP and OLAP databases to maximize benefits for internal customers by liaising with stakeholders.
- Maintain, develop, and create reports (mainly in SSRS) and develop tools and training for user self-service data access (e.g., web portals, intranet, web reports, analysis tools like JMP).
- Departmental Support & Training
- Manage and build a team dedicated to 24x7 manufacturing operations support.
- Collaborate closely with key internal stakeholders such as Manufacturing Operations, Process Development, and Test Development on database and OLAP development needs.
- Work with Operations Management to develop new systems and processes to improve data query efficiency.
- Engage with stakeholders to ensure business requirements are understood and met in new processes or SOPs.
- Create user documentation, deliver training, and provide high-level technical support to system super users with the team.
- Policies & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with data protection laws, regulations, and safeguarding requirements.
- Stay updated on ISO standards like ISO27001 (Information Security) and ISO50001 (Energy Management).
Qualifications and Training
- Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields.
- Proficient in relational MSSQL and/or Oracle database systems, scripting, and programming languages.
- Knowledge of Big Data setups and DBA certifications are desirable.
Skills and Experience
- Experience leading a team of database, data, or software engineers in a technical/managerial role.
- Proficient in SSRS report writing using T-SQL, including stored procedures and views.
- Skilled in programming languages such as C# and Java.
- Experience with semiconductor industry standard packages (e.g., YMS, FDC, SPC, MES) and tool automation data collection is desirable.
