Scopely is seeking a Build & Release Engineer to join our talented team in Ireland, Spain, Portugal, or the UK on a hybrid/remote basis. At Scopely, we are passionate about creating engaging mobile games and connecting millions of players worldwide. We are currently developing an ambitious, unannounced Strategy/MMO title and are building a team of passionate game makers.

What You Will Do

  • Provide technical guidance and support for build and release processes related to Unity 3D games and CICD pipelines.
  • Ensure the stability, security, and reliability of build pipelines supporting game development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including game development, QA, operations, and management.
  • Develop automation tools and processes to improve reproducibility and efficiency.
  • Monitor, audit, and report on build systems, incorporating observability and alerts throughout the CICD lifecycle.
  • Participate in code reviews and development processes to enhance engineering effectiveness.

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive experience in build and release roles, with a solid understanding of CI/CD practices for Unity 3D games.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python and Bash.
  • Experience with observability tools like ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog.
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and build tools like Jenkins, GitLab, Maven, or Gradle.
  • Experience with Unity integrations, CI systems, and languages like Groovy is advantageous.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Terragrunt, or Packer.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and container orchestration technologies (Docker, AWS ECS/EKS).
  • Ability to troubleshoot environments across platforms and understand networking and security concepts.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps principles.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Experience in the gaming industry, especially with Unity 3D, is preferred.
  • Experience with automated testing and workflow automation.
