An established process manufacturing site in West Sussex is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Process Plant Manager. This role is ideal for a leader with a background in continuous process industries, focused on safety, efficiency, and team development.

Role Overview

As Process Plant Manager, you will take full responsibility for daily plant operations. This includes managing production, maintenance, SHEQ performance, and site infrastructure. You will drive continuous improvement, lead an experienced team, and ensure that operations meet both regulatory and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of site operations, ensuring they are efficient, safe, and environmentally responsible.
  • Lead with a strong focus on Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ), championing best practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage daily production and maintenance activities, including resource planning and budgeting.
  • Support and develop team members to build a high-performing, engaged, and capable workforce.
  • Drive continuous improvement across operations, enhancing productivity and process reliability.
  • Take full ownership of site infrastructure, assets, emergency systems, and site security.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
  • Proven leadership experience in a process, manufacturing, or industrial plant environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, risk management, and ISO standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and influence across all levels.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing teams and achieving operational excellence.
