HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND LEARN?

  • Proactively identify and optimise opportunities to expand Hong Kong’s positioning and increase distribution of Hong Kong and multi-destination product amongst the defined Market Areas (UK, Spain, Italy and Benelux), aiming to increase visitor arrivals to Hong Kong and strengthen the destination's image to drive demand.
  • Seek out sources of business to ensure that tourism revenue is increased in Hong Kong.
  • Coordinate training for the travel trade by giving product presentations and training sessions to increase tour operators' and agents' core knowledge of Hong Kong and to establish Hong Kong as a preferred holiday and stopover destination.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement and relationships across all relevant markets.
  • Secure distribution of new tour product in line with agreed targets, expanding distribution.
  • Gather market intelligence and report on industry trends and activities.
  • Instigate and implement trade partnerships / marketing campaigns as part of wider marketing campaigns in conjunction with the Senior Manager, Marketing and Public Relations.
  • Work closely with tour operators to ensure that Hong Kong remains an integral part of their marketing programmes.
  • Initiate and secure partner airlines and hotels for trade familiarisation trips to Hong Kong and multi-destination programmes and escort these trips.
  • Represent HKTB at third party trade events including, but not limited to WTM, ITB & PATA events where appropriate.
  • Organise HKTB owned trade events, e.g. Contact & Contract and annual Chinese New Year event.
  • Undertake other additional duties as advised by the Director, Europe.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • A degree holder, with 10 years' relevant experience preferably in a travel trade facing role.
  • Knowledge of the UK travel industry landscape is essential; knowledge of European travel industry is an advantage.
  • Prior knowledge of Hong Kong a distinct advantage.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills including event management and a can-do attitude.
  • Analytical and reporting skills.
  • Good budget management skills.
  • Knowledge of the following software packages: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work under own initiative without supervision.
  • Willingness to travel and to work evenings and weekends if required.

LOCATION

The position is located in our London Office. We do not offer moving allowances from other cities.
