This financial services client is seeking a hands-on, results-driven Technical Delivery Manager adept in working in fast-paced environments and driving accountability. You will tactically manage and own multiple ICT projects (e.g., data centre exits, legacy system decommissioning) from initiation to closure, ensuring technical teams deliver functional requirements on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery of concurrent technical projects, ensuring tasks are clearly defined, assigned, and updated in real time.
  • Maintain a dynamic RAID log with ownership, mitigation plans, and deadlines, escalating blockers proactively.
  • Hold technical teams accountable through daily stand-ups, task reminders, and direct follow-ups.
  • Apply pragmatic change controls.
  • Identify root causes of delays (e.g., skill gaps, unclear requirements) and propose fixes, such as training or process adjustments.

Essential Experience

  • 5+ years in hands-on technical project delivery, specifically infrastructure (networks, data centres, cloud migrations, etc.).
  • Technical delivery in a large fast-paced multi-entity or financial services environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex ICT projects on time, with examples of overcoming resistance or excuses, and holding teams accountable.
  • Expertise in project management techniques such as APM/Prince2.
  • Technical fluency to interrogate engineers and challenge estimated timeframes.
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to achieving project objectives, driving tasks to completion, and ensuring clear accountability for actions and outcomes.
  • Ability to apply structured critical thinking to identify underlying issues, challenge assumptions, and consistently develop practical, solution-focused recommendations.
  • Ability to maintain professional persistence in following up on actions, tailoring communication style appropriately for both technical audiences and senior stakeholders.
