Job Description:

  • Monitor and manage the operational performance quality and logistics of a panel of mechanical suppliers from the selection phase to the series phase.
  • Lead action plans with suppliers in case of recurring performance deviations until acceptable performance levels are restored.
  • Within the existing contract, achieve and implement improvement plans with suppliers to continuously enhance their maturity level.
  • During this period of shortages and tensions in the supply chain, provide support for supply performance by managing supplier escalations and monitoring suppliers' Line of Balance (LOB) on critical parts.

Additional description:

As part of a dynamic team of 12 people and a manager, distributed across 6 production sites, the main activities of the Supplier Performance Manager (SPM) are as follows:

  • Manage the quality and logistics performance of mechanical suppliers in coordination with procurement, supplier quality, and purchasing teams.
  • Define and manage the monitoring plan. Validate its implementation with procurement and supplier quality teams. Validate risk analyses and associated actions. Measure and analyse the effectiveness of monitoring and ensure its capitalisation and continuous improvement.
  • Plan, manage, and possibly conduct audits and evaluations at suppliers: Capacity, Production Management, Supply Chain, Quality, Process, and ensure their closure.
  • Consolidate monthly supplier performance. Ensure measurement consistency. Establish, disseminate, and share the scorecard.
  • Manage suppliers' action plans. Validate requests for corrective actions and suppliers' responses in case of recurring and/or major incidents (e.g., logistical crisis, quality alert).
  • Within the contract framework, coordinate supplier improvement actions: act as an interface for any supplier performance issues across the 6 industrial sites (France) within the DSFF division of Safran Aerosystems.

Job Requirements:

  • ≥ 5 years in monitoring and developing suppliers in a purchasing/logistics/quality structure in an industrial context (automotive, aerospace…)
  • Minimum education level: Bac + 5
  • Fluency in English.
  • Technical and industrial affinity related to manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge in industrial management (kanban, MRP2, VMI, EDI…)
  • Proficiency in Quality tools (FMEA, 8D, Ishikawa, 5P, etc.)
  • Rigorous personality, highly organised, results-oriented.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Leadership and listening skills to support.
  • APICS Basics level at minimum is desired.

Specifics of the position (travel, on-call duty, occasional nights…):

  • Frequent travel to various production sites and suppliers expected (50%).
  • Works in interface and collaboration with the Purchasing, Industrialisation, Procurement, Control, Commerce, Programmes, Finance, Supply Chain departments, and the Safran Group.
