Due to significant investment and growth plans here at EMIS, we are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to come and join us on a permanent basis. Our main tech stack includes Python, SQL, Typescript and more, all hosted in AWS. As our SSDET you will spend the majority of your time working with our front and backend Developers to improve our testing processes, to ensure we provide a seamless experience to our healthcare users. What you’ll do
It sounds cliché, but we are a fast-paced and ever-changing organisation, and we will keep you busy, but we have fun along the way. You will work closely with project teams made up of Software Developers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Project Managers and Software Delivery teams, so we need you to ensure communication and collaboration across everyone involved. We will be looking for you to interpret and/or gather user requirements and translate these into technical specifications and/or code. Other key responsibilities and accountabilities will include:
- Create and own testing processes/lifecycle and ensuring that they are completed to high standards.
- Identify and implement technical approaches to testing that will allow acceleration and automation of the testing effort.
- Proactively apply engineering strategy, application architecture and component design as well as our principles, practices and standards.
- Create and maintain suitable test environments.
- Capture test results and raise defects to the team where expected results differ to actual results.
Who you’ll be
We are looking for you to be a great Software Developer in Test! If you are eager to learn, proactive in your approach and able to work on your own initiative as well as collectively together as a team then you will add value to our team. You will have demonstrable experience/knowledge of software testing approaches including agile testing techniques. Other skills and experience we are looking for you to demonstrate include:
- Experience of automated testing is key.
- Awareness of best testing practices and ability to apply them.
- Collaboration with stakeholders to communicate test findings.
- Working or theoretical knowledge of coding languages such as Python and/or Typescript would be beneficial.
- Quickly adapts and embraces change.
