About the Design Technician Role

This Design Technician position is hands-on, detail-driven, and impact-focused. Youll take design concepts and bring them to life through technical drawings, data interpretation, and 3D modelling. Key Responsibilities of a Design Technician

  • Create and modify 2D and 3D CAD models for components, systems, and assemblies
  • Interpret technical data and transform it into accurate and buildable design outputs
  • Support engineers with technical drawings, calculations, and production data
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance
  • Take part in prototyping and support CAM and 3D printing activities
  • Maintain precise documentation and uphold internal design standards
  • Contribute ideas to improve design and production processes

What Were Looking For in a Design Technician

Must-Haves:

  • An analytical mind with great attention to detail
  • Mechanical understanding you enjoy figuring out how things are made
  • Experience or strong interest in CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar)
  • Confident handling data and interpreting technical drawings
