A global powerhouse within the engineering and technology space is looking to hire a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team in Bristol. This is a hybrid role with a minimum of three days per week in the office. You’ll be working within a dedicated team focused on the development and delivery of Low Voltage Power Distribution Systems. In this role, you will work on the pinnacle of engineering projects within the defence/marine sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and development of low voltage electrical power distribution systems for marine applications.
- Contribute to project delivery by supporting design work, technical documentation, and testing activities.
- Solve technical problems and provide practical solutions across electrical engineering tasks.
- Work closely with cross-discipline teams including mechanical, software, and systems engineers.
- Support junior team members with guidance and informal mentoring.
- Contribute to technical documentation, including schematics, reports, and engineering schedules.
- Engage with suppliers and customers to support project delivery, with occasional travel to external sites.
Key Requirements:
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in electrical design and distribution, ideally within a marine, defence, or complex systems environment.
- Good understanding of both AC and DC low voltage systems and their components.
- Ability to manage your own workload and contribute to project milestones.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Desirable Experience:
- Knowledge of marine and defence standards (IEC61439, Def Stans, or Class Society rules).
- Familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, MATLAB, or Mathcad.
- Working towards professional registration (e.g., Incorporated or Chartered Engineer).
