Proteintech is an international biotechnology company that manufactures antibodies, ELISA kits and proteins for use in life science research. Proteintech manufactures all its own products to the highest standards possible, with complete control over the whole manufacturing, validation and QC process.
We are experiencing rapid growth in Europe and are now recruiting for an Accountant in Manchester city centre. This position will further expand and optimize in-house accounting and financial reporting. As part of an excellent team, you will report directly to the local management as well as to the European Finance Manager. You will have real responsibility and gain exposure to multiple facets of the business.
Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable: process vendor / incoming invoices in our ERP system
- Accounts Receivable: transfer invoice data from order processing system into accounting software; create reminder runs periodically
- Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations – multiple currencies
- General Ledger postings including accruals, prepayments, payroll, bad debt, stock movements and fixed assets
- Preparation of monthly VAT returns to include Import Duty review
- Prepare periodical reporting to local management as well as to company HQ – currently quarterly with a look to move to monthly
- Collaborate with tax consultants and auditors on local UK statutory Year End filing and US consolidated accounts
Essential Requirements:
- 3-4 years professional experience in accounting - ideally, experience in an international group of companies
- Qualified in AAT, ATT, or ACCA.
- Good knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and the willingness to further develop
- Basic knowledge of Xero and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations would be an advantage
- Knowledge of UK tax and US-GAAP would be preferred
- Careful, reliable and conscientious way of working, initiative and ability to self-manage
- Analytical thinking and ability to work in a team
