Job Overview:
- Work alongside the GM, HOD’s, Management Company and Hotel Owner, informing of any Operational, Legal or Financial aspects and changes of system, policy and procedure prior to implementation.
- Identifying ways to manage accounts more effectively and efficiently.
- Ensures the accuracy of reports and financial accounts.
- Ensures all assets are accounted for & managed within the policies of the company & the owners.
- Maintains all expenses within the budgeted expenditure, reporting on any major variances that may occur with full explanations.
- Plans & manages implementation of departmental training.
- Liaise with the Revenue Manager & Sales team to determine the yield strategy of the hotel.
- Monitors the correct billing of revenues, cash control, float balances and credit balances of guests in house.
- Implement and maintain accounting control procedures as required by the company.
- Manages and maintains the operational procedure and systems for the accounting office, purchasing, goods receiving area, stores, F&B cost control, payroll.
- Submits accurate reports within the agreed timescale ie: Daily and weekly reports, weekly controller report to Management Company, Rolling forecast, monthly P & L accounts, audited year end accounts, annual budget pack, internal audit commentary reply.
- Manages and ensures accurate control systems are in place for Sales Ledger, Inventories, Cashiers & other floats, bank deposits, reconciliations and movement of funds, outgoing & incoming cheques, payroll, foreign currency exchange, cashier overages/shortages.
