We are currently recruiting for a Technical Financial Accountant to join our team in Heywood (UK).
As the Technical Financial Accountant, you will be part of the central European Finance team responsible for the preparation and analysis of external and internal financial reporting. This role is a key control to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the group’s (interim) financial information. You will be responsible for accounting analysis of technical accounting topics under US GAAP and UK GAAP, including leases, impairments, and revenue recognition. Additionally, you will prepare statutory UK financial statements, support income tax matters, and coordinate with external auditors. You will also be involved in the PPA process at the European level, including valuation, review of opening balance sheets, identification of GAAP differences, and accurate translation into our financial systems. This role reports to the “Specialist Technical Accounting” and closely collaborates with the technical accounting department in the EU and the UK Financial Controller.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare consolidated financial statements for UK entities and support income tax processes
- Handle PPA activities and technical accounting topics across Europe
- Participate in external audits related to UK and technical accounting issues (US GAAP and local GAAP)
- Identify and account for differences between US GAAP and local GAAP
- Support US GAAP tax provisioning related to PPA
- Monitor regulatory and financial reporting developments to ensure compliance
- Manage relationships with external auditors, advisors, and consultants
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting, Financial Controlling, or CPA qualification
- Typically 4-6 years of relevant experience (not mandatory)
- Strong analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative)
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, with problem-solving skills
- Proactive with a passion to learn and grow
- Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Commitment to outstanding customer service
- Ability to set goals, prioritize, organize, and complete tasks
