Delphian Records is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Label Manager to join its dynamic team at a pivotal moment of expansion and transition. This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in one of the UK’s leading independent classical labels, as it relocates to Oxfordshire and builds new partnerships across southern England.

Working closely with Senior Producer Paul Baxter, the successful candidate will support a wide range of core label functions. These include:

  • Liaising with artists
  • Co-ordinating the Delphian Team
  • Overseeing management of project timelines and budgets
  • Undertaking marketing activity and collaborating in PR campaigns
  • Co-ordinating physical and digital distribution
  • Supporting licensing and rights management

While direct experience in the recording industry is not essential, a background in arts administration, classical music, or media production is required. The role demands exceptional organisational and communication skills, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, artist-led environment. A key component of the role will be managing Delphian’s social media presence. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the label’s distinctive voice across platforms, ensuring that all content feels aligned with its artistic identity and values. They will be expected to deliver an ongoing campaign across platforms, working seamlessly with Delphian’s associate photographer and videographer to maximise the impact of releases. Strong visual instinct and confidence in maintaining a coherent online presence are essential.

Founded in 2000, Delphian has earned international acclaim for its boundary-pushing, critically lauded releases. The label’s catalogue now exceeds 350 titles, with around 30 new releases each year. Specialisms include chamber, choral and orchestral music, early and contemporary repertoire, and roots/folk projects with global reach. In 2014, Delphian was named Label of the Year by Gramophone Magazine, and its in-house production work continues to be widely admired internationally across the industry.

Location: With recording operations shifting south in 2025, the Label Manager will be based near or commutable to Oxfordshire, with flexible home-working arrangements and occasional travel as required.

Employment terms: Freelance contract, minimum 20 hours per week (flexible days; hybrid working encouraged)

Salary: £27/hour, with generous scope for enhancement based on performance
