Title:Trainee Estimator Location: Hoveringham, Nottingham Salary: Competitive Salary Permanent, Full Time Application Deadline: 04/02/2025 We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Hoveringham team in the position of Trainee Estimator. Once fully trained and signed-off as competent by a senior manager, the role holder will be required to produce quotations and generate orders for our range of precast concrete products. Estimators will be trained to specialise in one of the following 4 disciplines. Additional training may also be provided in other disciplines of the technical services estimating department as deemed necessary by the business. Discipline # 1: Commercial Estimating Discipline # 2: HBS Growth Discipline # 3: Lightweight Facades Discipline # 4: Bespoke Estimating Your duties would include but not limited to the following; QUOTATIONS – Timely and accurate production of quotations in line with customers requirements for our range of precast concrete products and lightweight facades. COST MANAGEMENT – To understand & work to set pricing parameters. INFORMATION – To have the ability to handle variety of drawing formats for quotation production. LIAISON – Have a strong telephone manner to contact & discuss external parties when establishing quotation requirements to resolve quotation & technical queries. To also liaise with internal Contracts/ Production/Drawing teams to agree customer requirements & any non-standard details. COMMUNICATION – Effective, regular communication with the Design, Sales and Transport functions. Ensure detailed information on estimates and quotations are communicated to the wider business. About You ; Experience of Word, Excel and other Microsoft Software. Excellent organisational skills with strong time management Good team player and competent at working alone Good verbal and written communication skills Confident and outgoing personality Education / Qualification; Essential: Grade C, GCSE or equivalent Mathematics, English Desirable: A Level Mathematics, English, Science Technical & Interpersonal Skills; Essential: Numeracy, literacy, ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. Excellent interpersonal, listening, negotiation, communication and IT skills. Desirable: Knowledge of construction techniques and site constraints. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Familiar with working in a target orientated business. Willingness to be involved in other activities to achieve company objectives.
