Turner & Townsend's Digital and consultancy business unit are looking for a suitable candidate to join their team, with an aptitude for stakeholder management and digital advisory to lead Digital teams and delivery. The team offers a wide range of commissions covering the UK. Candidates would be expected to travel supporting the delivery of the commissions. The successful candidate will lead digital advisory expertise throughout the digital project lifecycle, from discovery to implementation. Additionally, they will support the development of our Digital Advisory service offering, acting as a leader to provide best practice knowledge and guidance to junior colleagues and the wider business.
Furthermore, they will lead the development of new commercial service opportunities. Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills with an ability to adapt to and embed into different client environments. They will be comfortable engaging non-technical stakeholders at both a conceptual and detailed level. Candidates will be expected to engage with clients and be comfortable in leading workshops, both client-facing and virtually.
Candidates should be flexible and able to provide guidance through the digital project lifecycle:
- Carry out discovery activities including as-is analysis and maturity assessments following our frameworks
- Design target operating models and detailed implementation plans
- Lead a multifaceted project delivery team, including technical developers and non-technical team members, to deliver digital solutions
- Change management principles involving people, operations and processes
- Knowledge of wider digital principles and practices and the ability to bring in the right SMEs at the right time, including our SMEs from data analytics, automation, information management, and systems integration
- Experience of working in Agile development teams
- Previous consultancy experience is desired, although appropriate industry experience will also be considered
- Experience of the construction industry is desired, particularly on infrastructure programmes within the public and private sectors
- Project management skillset, with an ability to organize and articulate project plans, resourcing needs and progress updates internally and externally
- Knowledge of Programme and Project Management software is advantageous, such as Primavera P6, Contruent, SAP, Prism
Consultants will work within our Digital consulting team. They may also operate within wider Turner & Townsend project teams from other business units. They will support a wide range of projects of all sizes and dimensions. From time to time this may include working with consultants from different agencies.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Bringing clients on the journey of digital transformation, providing advice on next steps and influencing towards best practice
- Analysis of the As-Is state and identifying To-Be processes and operating models
- Embedding digital solutions within organisations through change management principles
- Preparing written project communication materials
- Preparing formal project progress and other reports
- Leading relationships with the client, contractors and designers
Other responsibilities include:
- Demonstrating leadership in the growth of the Digital Advisory service offering by leading document development for client bids, internal and external communications
- Inputting key information into the Turner & Townsend internal database tools, e.g. opportunity tracking, invoicing
- Supporting junior team members’ career growth, with coaching and line management provided within project delivery and internal capability teams
Qualifications
This role will require strong stakeholder and consultancy skills. Qualifications in at least one of the below is desirable. Alternatively, strong experience will be considered:
- Chartered Management Institute (CMI) or other management consultant qualifications
- Business Analysis qualifications such as BCS or IIBA
- Other relevant qualifications, e.g. TOGAF, Lean Six Sigma
