AND THE NEW is an award-winning social-first strategic marketing agency. We are defined by our obsession to inspire and engage audiences through their passions across sports, entertainment and culture. We live and breathe the platforms that shape modern attention. If you’re fluent in scroll behaviour, thumb-stopping content, and designing for social with commercial intent, you’ll thrive here.

THE ROLE: We’re looking for a digitally native designer with strong instincts for what works on social not just what looks nice. This isn’t about poster design, illustrations, or editorial layouts. This is about designing to stop the scroll, drive interaction, and bring brands to life where audiences spend their time.

You should be obsessed with:

  • What makes a YouTube thumbnail get clicked.
  • Why someone swipes past a Story or taps through a carousel.
  • How brands craft a visual identity on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.
  • Creating assets that deliver results—views, engagement, growth—not just likes.

This role is perfect for a creative executor who thinks strategically about visual language across platforms and thrives on performance-led content design. We fundamentally believe that social isn’t just another channel. It’s the front door to your brand, the first impression for new fans, and the most powerful growth engine in today’s media world. The brands that win are the ones who show up with purpose, move at the pace of culture, and act like they belong in the feed not like they bought their way in. If you believe the same, then you'll fit in just fine!

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Designing high-impact, social-first creative: statics, carousels, YouTube thumbnails, Stories, short-form video covers, and more.
  • Contribute to creative ideation and help bring pitch decks to life with impactful visuals.
  • Collaborating with strategists, editors, and content leads to elevate concepts with your design thinking.
  • Building visual systems and templates for consistency across social campaigns.
  • Owning your work from concept through to final execution with attention to brand detail.
  • Responding fast to creative needs in a dynamic, culture-led team.
  • Adapt assets for different platforms and campaigns, always staying on-brand.
  • Ensure all projects are managed and delivered on time and to the highest quality.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • 1–3 years of design experience (agency, brand or freelance). First-jobbers with great energy and portfolio will also be considered!
  • A portfolio showing social-native work: carousels, Stories, thumbnails, short-form content, etc. (Illustration-only portfolios will not be considered unless clearly applicable.)
  • Deep understanding of social platform behaviour: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Experience creating designs for scroll, swipe, and click.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator). Motion design (After Effects) is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with using AI tools like Firefly, Midjourney or Runway to explore faster creative ideas.
  • Lives within a commutable distance to our Central London office. Hybrid attendance required.
  • Natural curiosity and willing to learn.
  • Confidence in presenting and explaining your creative choices to team and clients.

APPLICATION MUST-HAVE: Applications without a portfolio will not be considered. Show us what you’ve designed for social not just what you’ve designed.

BONUS POINTS:

  • Have motion design skills (even light animation).
  • Have worked with web design tools (Figma, Squarespace, Webflow).
  • Run a creative side project or have a passion brand of your own.
  • Know how to storyboard and shape content ideas visually.

BENEFITS AND SALARY

Salary range £25,000 – £30,000 (dependant on experience).

  • Company commission scheme
  • Company profit-sharing bonus scheme
  • Hybrid working (2 days/week in London office)
  • 25 days paid holiday + bank holidays + Christmas shutdown
  • Birthday day off
  • £500 annual training budget
  • Pension scheme
  • Opportunity to grow fast in a creatively ambitious and collaborative team who are working at the forefront of brands in sports, entertainment and culture.
