Buyer Required – A permanent vacancy has arisen within our client\’s Purchasing Department for the above position based in Falkirk.

Pay rate – £35k plus 15% salary bonus.

Company details – Established in 1984, our client is a leading turnkey engineering services business that provides end-to-end solutions in design engineering, fabrication, construction, industrial services, and asset integrity.

The Buyer will be responsible for all commercial aspects of their allocated suppliers, including:

1. Management of key suppliers for various commodities
2. Driving cost reduction on supplier spends through negotiation
3. Supplier management through a ratings system
4. Driving supplier reviews, audits, and agreements
5. Supporting all commercial aspects within the Purchasing environment, including New Product Introductions (NPI)
6. Ensuring the supply chain process is fit for purpose
7. NPI responsibilities
8. End of month reporting
9. Working with the material controller and providing support when required

You will be supplier-focused with excellent communication and presentation skills, good reporting and negotiating skills, and the ability to work as part of a team. Additionally, you should have commercial judgment and contract management skills. Proficiency in Excel is essential, and knowledge of MRP systems is advantageous. Knowledge of importing materials and parts would also be a plus.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience working in a Purchasing environment and possess good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel and Word. Preferably, you should also be HNC qualified or working towards it.
