Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)

Role Summary: You will be working across categories on apparel, ensuring high standards of garment quality, fit, and functionality. This role involves managing technical aspects from concept to completion while maintaining compliance, ethical standards, and commercial viability. You will work closely with the product team, designers, and suppliers.

Preferred/Essential Skills:

  • Minimum of 4 years’ prior experience in a Garment Technologist role.
  • Technical training and understanding of pattern cutting.
  • Strong knowledge of fabric, garment construction, technical drawing, measuring, and fitting.
  • Good understanding of garment construction, textiles, and the manufacturing process.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage your own time and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal teams and external partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Excel.
  • Experience working with sportswear products is preferable but not essential.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure garments meet customers’ expectations in terms of performance and fit, whilst conforming to prevailing legislation and regulations.
  • Conduct garment fittings with live models, and have the confidence to seal and approve bulk products.
  • Measure and prepare samples for fit meetings where required.
  • Check and approve wash care label information.
  • Carry out a range of technical, investigative work to ensure the product is delivered to the highest standards.
  • Communicate effectively with the Far East supply chain.
  • Liaise with factories.
  • Make commercial decisions.
  • Approve and analyse test reports.
  • Set up trackers to monitor the status of testing approvals.
  • Conduct block and fit reviews.
  • Report and analyse quality control and product returns.
  • Work with the product team and designers to create new garment specifications and collaborate to determine the best fabric and trim combinations.
  • Drive projects in line with business requirements.
  • Assess and streamline administrative processes to optimise efficiency.
