The school seeks a Youth Worker within schools who will be enthusiastic, understanding, patient and compassionate, providing specialist support and guidance to the students in their variety of learning needs and assistance. Delivering support to children across the ages of 6 to 16 years old, on a one-to-one and small-group basis. Building a lasting relationship with students, enabling them to reach their full potential whilst having fun and shining bright.
The school is a specialist provision for children with SEN. The school teaches children from the age of 6 to 16 in small classes with EHC plans for social, emotional or mental health needs. The school aims to create a happy, healthy community in which all students and staff members can succeed. The school does their utmost to support students in a calm and non-confrontational manner, helping students to feel comfortable enabling them to make the most of their opportunities. To be considered for the role, you will:
- Be flexible.
- Ideally have your own transport or close public transport links.
- Experience with both small group and 1:1 is beneficial.
- Have friendly and nurturing qualities.
- Have experience supporting children and young adults with a range of different learning needs and abilities – PMLD, MLD, ADHD, ADD, ASD, Global Delay, VI, HI, SEMH.
- Preferably have moving and handling training or recent experience in this.
- Have a patient and caring nature.
- Have a desire to work with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
- Be willing to complete CPD training.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Have a desire to work with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
