As a Server Platforms and Operating Systems Engineer, you will manage and maintain the infrastructure supporting Kingfisher’s IT systems, including servers, virtualization platforms, and various operating systems. Responsibilities include system administration, security, troubleshooting, and developing automated solutions. What’s the job? Installing, configuring, and maintaining server operating systems, including patching, security updates, and performance tuning. Monitoring server performance and resolving system issues to ensure maximum uptime. Developing automation solutions to streamline tasks and improve efficiency. Collaborating with other teams and external vendors for system integration and interoperability. Implementing and maintaining security measures to safeguard servers and data. Maintaining accurate documentation of server configurations and processes. What you\’ll bring We seek a candidate with a strong understanding of operating systems and virtualization, proficient in scripting and automation, with knowledge of networking and storage. You should excel at diagnosing and resolving complex issues, understand security best practices, and work well independently and in teams. Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, and ESXi. Experience with VMware and KVM virtualization technologies. Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell and automation tools like Ansible. Knowledge of storage technologies such as Fibre Channel or iSCSI. Excellent problem-solving skills and security awareness.
