New Directions are seeking compassionate teaching assistants to work in our schools in and around Dyserth, Denbighshire. We have multiple positions available ranging from day-to-day work and long-term roles.

As a teaching assistant, you will play an important role in supporting students within primary and secondary school settings. Your responsibilities will include providing support to students either in a group or 1:1 setting. You will also assist with classroom activities. It is also important that you are providing a positive learning environment for students to thrive.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting children with additional learning needs to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Helping to prepare classrooms for lessons.
  • Making sure that learning materials and resources are available for effective teaching and learning.
  • Providing an environment where students feel motivated to learn and succeed.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 months experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
  • Enthusiasm for the role and dedication to working with children.
  • A DBS that is enhanced and on the update service, or willingness to run a DBS.
  • Registration with the education workforce council.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
