Interim Technical Officer - West Midlands - Hybrid -12 months

Job Title: Technical Officer (Disrepair & Damp/Mould) – Interim Position Location: West Midlands Contract Duration: 1x position until March 2026 1x position for 3 months, with potential to extend Rate: £30-£35 per hour (negotiable) Role Overview: We are seeking two experienced Technical Officers to join a local authority team in the West Midlands. The role involves managing disrepair claims, conducting property inspections for damp/mould, and supporting the implementation of Awaab\’s Law. Key Responsibilities: Disrepair Claims: Respond to and manage disrepair cases. Property Inspections: Inspect properties for damp/mould and disrepair issues. Collaboration: Work with independent surveyors to assess and agree on necessary repairs. Repair Specifications: Specify and manage repair works, ensuring compliance and value for money. Expert Reports: Produce expert witness reports and liaise with contractors. Site Inspections: Ensure quality of work and adherence to schedules. Essential Experience: Disrepair & Damp/Mould Surveying: Proven experience in handling disrepair, damp, and mould issues. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of repair techniques and housing maintenance. Public Sector Experience: Experience within a local authority or housing association. Report Writing: Ability to write expert reports and technical specifications.
