We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and professional Hotel Receptionist to join our friendly team at Mercure Bridgwater. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a vital role in ensuring every guest receives a warm welcome and exceptional service throughout their stay. Shifts are scheduled on a rota basis, covering early (6:00am – 2:30pm) and late (2:00pm – 10:30pm) shifts across 7 days.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in guests, ensuring a smooth and efficient arrival experience
- Handle guest inquiries, both in person and over the phone/email
- Process reservations, payments, and check-outs accurately
- Assist guests with information about the hotel, local area, and available services
- Liaise with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction
- Handle any guest issues or complaints with professionalism and empathy
- Maintain a tidy and presentable reception area at all times
About You:
- Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience in a front-of-house or customer service role is desirable, but full training will be provided
- Confident using computer systems; previous experience with hotel booking systems is an advantage
- Able to work flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays
- A team player who can also work independently
