About us
Moon Intelligence is a founder-led, successful startup delivering innovative solutions to the sports betting industry since 2018. The business is built around predictive sports modelling - combining cutting-edge statistical techniques with an ever-expanding array of real-time data feeds, scraped inputs, and APIs to power accurate, scalable decision systems.
Our software engineering team is small, fast-paced, and trusted to build and ship critical systems. We work with a rich blend of live and historical sports data and power internal tools that support high-frequency decision-making. Engineers are hands-on with real-world problems and have room to influence how our systems evolve. We release quickly and often - no long cycles or red tape. Engineers are trusted to build, ship, and iterate. There’s plenty of scope for improvement, and we’re investing in the foundations to modernise our stack and scale intelligently.
What you’ll work on
- Build and modernise a suite of internal-facing web applications - from real-time trading platforms and sports data visualisation tools to more structured workflow and operations interfaces.
- Help design and shape a greenfield frontend platform that supports fast iteration, quality UI and long-term maintainability.
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to rapidly prototype ideas, improve internal workflows, and deliver polished user experiences.
- While this is a frontend-focused role, the ability to occasionally dive into backend code and collaborate across layers will be highly valued.
How we work
- Flat and collaborative - we avoid hierarchy, and engineers have real input.
- No product managers - priorities are set between engineering and leadership.
- Hybrid team - mostly remote with team days to stay connected.
- We optimise for fast, pragmatic improvements, not perfection.
- Your voice matters - engineers help define and improve our ways of working.
Our tech stack
We use a mix of PHP, Python, and JavaScript across our platform. We’re currently in a modernisation phase, where we choose the right tools for each job - sometimes that means improving what we’ve got, and sometimes isolating functionality and introducing something new. We’re building out a modern frontend platform from scratch, and you’ll play a key role in defining the tools, frameworks, and engineering practices we adopt. It’s a rare chance to influence the direction of a greenfield setup - aiming for a platform that’s easy to work with, simple to extend, and fast to ship. We’re combining best practices with a culture that values experimentation, rapid iteration, and delivering real impact quickly.
What we’re looking for
- Familiarity with modern web development technologies such as React, Next.js, Vue and Typescript.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building robust, maintainable frontend applications.
- A practical mindset - you know when to tidy, when to rebuild, and when to ship.
- Excitement about working on technical problems with real-world impact.
- Interest in sports, trading or analytics is a plus - not essential, but it helps.
- Experience (or appetite) for working with live data, performance-sensitive systems, or data ingestion pipelines.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and communicate clearly.
