We're working on a confidential CTO mandate for a leading B2B SaaS business on a significant growth trajectory. This role isn’t about maintaining legacy systems—it’s about driving innovation, evolving platforms, and cultivating a cutting-edge engineering culture.

The ideal candidate will have led 350+ software engineers across complex environments and can clearly demonstrate how they’ve evolved teams and tech to support best-in-class product delivery. This is a role for someone who sees beyond code—who thinks in platforms, architecture, customer outcomes, and continuous innovation.

The Opportunity

You’ll be central to shaping technology strategy, owning infrastructure and platform decisions, and influencing everything from R&D to stakeholder relationships. You’ll inspire a culture where testing, learning, and scaling are embedded ways of working not just buzzwords.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Experience leading large-scale engineering functions (ideally 350+ software engineers—not just developers)
• Proven ability to modernise and scale complex technical environments
• Strong grasp of cloud architecture, DevOps, containerisation, and scalable product engineering
• A clear product development mindset able to show how you’ve driven iterative delivery and tech stack evolution to match market needs
• Polished, credible, and comfortable engaging with customers, clients, and C-suite stakeholders
• A hands-on understanding of building from the ground up ideally with startup or scale-up experience embedded in your journey
• Visionary leadership and team-building capabilities, with a clear approach to mentoring, growing, and retaining high-performing tech talent
• An innovation-first mindset with the ability to pivot, pilot, and scale solutions quickly and effectively
