European Tech Recruit are working closely with a multinational telecommunications company, based in Edinburgh, who are looking for a talented Knowledge Computing Researcher to join their team.

In this role you will be expected to have a solid understanding of the whole technology research and development cycle from research and design to implementation and evaluation. A background in areas such as LLM based agents, knowledge graph, knowledge reasoning/inference and semantic search (text/image/video) is desired.

Responsibilities as Knowledge Computing Researcher:

  • Architect solutions that deeply couple retrieval systems (RAG, KGs, databases) with agent planning, reasoning, and execution workflows.
  • Translate cutting-edge research into deployable systems across scenarios such as virtual assistants, intelligent QA, multi-agent collaboration, and AI developer tools.

PhD in NLP, deep learning, knowledge engineering, information retrieval, or related fields.

At least 3 years of work experience in at least one of the following fields is REQUIRED:

  • Knowledge engineering technologies (RDF, SPARQL, OWL, SKOS)
  • Natural Language Processing (LLM, agent, entity detection, question answering, etc.)
  • Machine Learning & Deep Learning (LSTM, transformer, etc.)

At least 2 (3-5 would be desirable) papers published on top conference/journal in the related fields like KDD, ISWC, ACL, NeurIPS, ICML, EMNLP, ICLR, AAAI, IJCAI, KR.

Excellent software design and coding skills.

Knowledge of building large-scale knowledge graphs, especially reasoning and inference engine on knowledge graphs.
