This trauma-informed school for children with SEMH needs is located in Woking and offers significant learning opportunities for children aged 7-16. You should be open-minded, eager to embrace challenges, and looking to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of vulnerable children with additional needs.
Role of Secondary SEN / SEMH Intervention Teacher:
As a SEN / SEMH Teacher, you will deliver creative and engaging Maths or English lessons to small classes of children (up to 8 students) with SEMH needs. You will teach across subjects and provide students with the necessary learning to make good progress. The school maintains a high staff-to-student ratio and focuses on addressing educational, social, and therapeutic needs, emphasizing individual happiness and wellbeing, allowing students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Many children have experienced adverse childhood experiences, face barriers in life, and are at higher risk of negative outcomes. Your role will be crucial in providing consistency, equipping children and young people with tools to feel safe, secure, empowered, and confident in their ability to succeed. You will create interactive, therapeutic, and meaningful lessons to help children reach their full potential.
Requirements for SEN / SEMH Intervention Teacher:
- QTS/QTLS or relevant teaching experience – education and training will be provided
- Professional or personal experience working with vulnerable children, those with additional needs, challenging behaviors, or mental health needs
