Here at Spalding, we have a team of around 540 colleagues. We produce coleslaw, potato salad, salad bar bulk products (2kg), pasta salads and couscous/grains for some of the biggest retailers in the UK including Morrisons, Co-op, Asda, Aldi, Sainsbury's, Nando's and Pizza Hut. Our Spalding site has a restaurant with hot food available to all our colleagues.
What you will be doing:
- As a Prep Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring all food preparation is carried out, including using a machine for slicing various vegetables and preparing all mixers ready for the mixing operatives.
- You will be involved in batching and weighing ingredients into large bins, then transferring them via a mechanical lift into an industrial paddle mixer for a specific duration, then into bins for the Filling Lines, whilst filling out all checks.
- You will ensure the team is working to their maximum potential and that the machinery is working consistently and correctly.
- You will be responsible for monitoring production to help attain KPIs for productivity and efficiency.
What we are looking for:
- Applicants must have a good level of education, verbal, written and numerical.
- Experience in the food manufacturing industry is essential, preferably in salads.
- Flexibility in approach to shifts is required.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding area of the factory.
- The successful candidate may be required to move shifts/department to meet the needs of the business.
