A Day in the Life of a Laundry Aide: The Laundry Aide is essential in managing laundry operations, ensuring that both hospital linens and care center personal clothing are processed accurately and efficiently. This role involves sorting various types of laundry, operating washing and folding equipment, and performing all tasks while adhering to stringent hygiene and safety standards. You will often collaborate with the Environmental Services Manager and other department staff to ensure a seamless supply and distribution of linen across the facility. The position requires maintaining equipment and laundry supplies, alongside contributing to a clean and orderly work environment. Challenges include managing a high volume of laundry with precision and adapting to fluctuating demands in a healthcare setting.

About the Laundry Services Department: Fresh Linens, Reliably. In the Laundry Services Department at CRMC, we provide clean, high-quality linens, scrubs, and garments that meet the highest standards of hygiene and comfort. From surgical gowns and patient bedding to staff scrubs and specialty linens, we ensure that every fabric item used in patient care is fresh, sanitized, and ready for use. Our team works behind the scenes to manage high-volume laundering, linen distribution, and inventory control, ensuring that clinical teams always have the supplies they need to provide excellent care.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience Required:
  • Able to follow written and oral instructions, interact with all members of the healthcare team, and respond appropriately to all requests
  • Sufficient writing ability to compose/take phone messages and fill out request forms
  • Must have sufficient reading ability to read instructions and chemical product labels
Preferred:
  • Prior laundry experience and/or experience working in a healthcare facility and/or knowledge of laundry equipment and operations

Compensation and Benefits: The pay range is listed above. Actual pay rate offered is determined based on experience in this role.
