The Fabrication Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all fabricated components meet specified standards, drawings, codes, and customer requirements. This role involves inspecting materials, welds, dimensions, and finishes during and after the fabrication process to verify compliance with quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-process and final inspections of fabricated metal components and assemblies.
  • Carry out NDE as required – Following training.
  • Identify & record nonconforming products & oversee resolution as required.
  • Generate and maintain inspection documentation as necessary.
  • Ensure Inspection test plan is followed.
  • First off to final release inspection.
  • Inspection visits to sub suppliers.
  • Assist with customer visits.
  • Calibration / verification of equipment.
  • Maintaining welding parameters and welding stores.

Requirements:

  • Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications etc.
  • Ability to use measuring equipment – Tape measures etc.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to plan own workload.
  • Experience with QC of structural fabrications during all aspects of production.
  • Familiar with ISO 9001.
  • Driving licence recognised in the UK.
