Stoke-on-Trent City Council is seeking a committed and dynamic Advanced/Senior Practitioner to join our Children’s Services team. This is a crucial role for a confident practitioner with a strong foundation in social care, leadership, and the development of best practice.
In terms of management team – supervision is completed with social workers every 4 weeks (both case supervision and personal supervision), this is completed 1-1 by the team manager. In addition to that, we have team meetings at least once per fortnight and group supervision, guest speakers and peer review is part of these meetings on rotation. We also have full-service meetings, learning sessions and team away days throughout the year.

What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
- Has successfully completed the ASYE (Assessed and Supported Year in Employment)
- Has a minimum of 3 years post-ASYE experience in statutory children’s social work
- Has experience in a supervisory role or demonstrable involvement in practice development
- Passionate about contributing to the learning and mentoring of others
- Skilled in working with complexity, risk, and challenge in a strengths-based and child-centred way
