ABOUT THE CLIENT:
Our client is a major player in the defence technology sector with a growing UK footprint. Their Bedfordshire site develops mission-critical platforms and systems for both UK and international military customers. With a variety of advanced vehicle and special projects underway, they are looking to expand their team with a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to support new product development.
THE MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER ROLE:
- Develop robust and innovative mechanical design solutions for harsh environments
- Use CREO to deliver concept and detailed designs, ensuring full documentation and supporting calculations
- Work with users, SMEs, and Design Authorities to create compliant and manufacturable subsystems
- Support prototype builds, physical testing, and design reviews
- Adhere to strict engineering, safety, and legislative standards
MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Proven background in mechanical design from concept to manufacture
- Expert in CREO Parametric with Windchill PDM
- Experience in Defence or Aerospace industry
- Ability to produce and justify calculations for structural and motion systems
