The predicted salary is between 45000 - 64000 £ per year.

£43–£64ph (Inside IR35) | 6-month contract | 37.5 hours/week

Minimum 2 days/week on-site in Ampthill. Every other Friday off. SC Clearance required (BPSS to start).

ABOUT THE CLIENT:

Our client is a major player in the defence technology sector with a growing UK footprint. Their Bedfordshire site develops mission-critical platforms and systems for both UK and international military customers. With a variety of advanced vehicle and special projects underway, they are looking to expand their team with a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to support new product development.

THE MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER ROLE:

  • Develop robust and innovative mechanical design solutions for harsh environments
  • Use CREO to deliver concept and detailed designs, ensuring full documentation and supporting calculations
  • Work with users, SMEs, and Design Authorities to create compliant and manufacturable subsystems
  • Support prototype builds, physical testing, and design reviews
  • Adhere to strict engineering, safety, and legislative standards

MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Proven background in mechanical design from concept to manufacture
  • Expert in CREO Parametric with Windchill PDM
  • Experience in Defence or Aerospace industry
  • Ability to produce and justify calculations for structural and motion systems
