Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Nurse has arisen to join our Dermatology nursing team at Epsom General Hospital. We are looking for a registered nurse with previous experience in Dermatology, able to work with minimal supervision when required, or interested in developing their skills further. This role is not suitable for newly qualified nurses. You will be joining a busy multidisciplinary team divided across all the Trust sites, although the main base for this role will be at Epsom hospital. You should be highly motivated with excellent team working, communication, and interpersonal skills. You are expected to support the Clinical Nurse specialists and Medical team in planning, developing, and delivering dermatology services and be able to organise and manage your own workload. Working across all aspects of care delivery in Dermatology outpatient clinics, the post holder must have clinical knowledge of dermatology conditions and minor procedures. You will be required to demonstrate comprehensive assessment skills, knowledge of evidence-based practice, and critical appraisal skills in applying theory to practice. The successful candidates must be capable of working independently to provide evidence-based interventions to patients, demonstrating expert clinical skills and knowledge whilst promoting patient-focused care. Main duties of the job As a member of the Dermatology Team, the post holder will provide a quality specialist service to Dermatology patients by delivering clinics such as Photodynamic Therapy, Patch Testing, and minor procedures. Assist the Dermatology Clinical nurse specialists and Medical Team in the delivery of hospital follow-up care such as post-procedure wound care, topical therapy, diagnostic testing, disease severity assessments, and skin cancer surveillance/support clinics as appropriate and under supervision. Contribute to the provision of an effective nurse service ensuring delivery that is sensitive to patient and department needs, innovative, and meets defined national and local standards.
