Our client, with a substantial residence close to Lewes in Sussex, is seeking a Temporary Live-in Housekeeper to assist with the smooth running of their busy family household. This residence is primarily used at weekends only, so it is imperative that candidates applying can offer flexibility to work during these times.
The residence consists of 10 ensuite bedrooms (4 are used usually) as well as 2 further guest bathrooms. The family is made up of 2 adults and 3 children (ages 11, 12, and 14), as well as a friendly cat and 3 dogs, so any candidate applying must be child and pet friendly. There is a part-time Cleaner who comes in 3 days per week.
Duties include:
- Management of the day-to-day running of the property – reporting any maintenance issues, organising and management of contractors, etc.
- Basic household admin, running errands
- All aspects of hands-on housekeeping, including vacuuming, cleaning, dusting, and polishing
- Laundry and ironing
- Wardrobe management
- Maintaining stocks of groceries/any other supplies
The ideal candidate would be highly experienced and hands-on, confident with managing a large and busy family household. Must be friendly, trustworthy, and smiley with a calm, sunny disposition. A driver would be essential – there is a car provided for work purposes.
Accommodation: 2-bedroom maisonette with bathroom, living room, kitchen, and utility room – currently unfurnished but furniture can be organised if needed.
Working days/hours: 5 days per week with 2 days off during the week – occasional weekends off when the family are away. It is imperative candidates applying are confident managing their own time.
