We represent a large global institution seeking an exceptional leader to shape and execute the strategy for its global data centre infrastructure. The successful candidate will modernise ageing facilities, resolve emerging power density constraints, and build the foundation for AI-capable private cloud and hybrid cloud environments.

Your Mission

You will take accountability for global data centre operations, modernisation, and strategic direction. You will lead programmes to upgrade power, cooling and DCIM systems, addressing power density issues that impact reliability and performance. You will define and deliver a roadmap for private cloud platforms optimised for AI and traditional workloads and accelerate a hybrid cloud strategy to ensure infrastructure agility and scalability. You will assume responsibility for transitioning vendor-managed M&E, security and facilities services into internal teams, driving excellence and control. You will lead and mentor engineering and operations teams across multiple regions, ensuring 24-hour availability, resilience planning and performance monitoring. You will manage global vendor contracts and SLAs, delivering accountability, cost efficiency and operational quality. You will oversee capital investments in data centre modernisation and future-ready infrastructure.

Your Skills and Experience

You must have at least fifteen years of experience in data centre engineering or operations, including leadership roles that involve modernisation, power density optimisation or AI infrastructure support. You should possess a strong technical foundation in mechanical and electrical systems, including UPS, generators, power distribution and cooling systems, as well as experience building or managing private and hybrid cloud environments. You should have demonstrated success in transitioning outsourced operations into insourced delivery models and leading geographically distributed engineering teams. You will hold a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline. Professional certifications such as CDCP, CDCMP or PMP are highly desirable. You will be a strategic thinker with excellent stakeholder engagement and executive communication skills.

Why You Should Apply

This role offers the opportunity to lead a major infrastructure transformation within a large global institution, resolving critical power and performance constraints and delivering infrastructure that supports AI-scale workloads and hybrid cloud strategies. You will lead a high-impact global team, modernise mission-critical assets and shape the future of enterprise infrastructure. You will report directly to the Head of Global Infrastructure and collaborate with peers in IT, cloud, security, sustainability, real estate and procurement.

We welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds in data centre operators, hyperscalers, technology firms or large enterprises. Please apply with your CV and a summary of your achievements in data centre modernisation, power density optimisation or AI infrastructure strategy.
