We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspirational Lecturer with a proven record of accomplishment in both Film Studies and Film Production teaching and research to contribute to our programmes in Film. Areas of knowledge include Asian cinema, British Cinema and Contemporary American Cinema and a track record in filmmaking, and teaching filmmaking, in one or more of the following craft areas: screenwriting, directing, editing.
This is a full-time permanent position and the starting salary is £46,735.
Key Responsibilities
- Ability to teach film theory and critical approaches to film studies through a non-Western lens, with some expertise in Asian cinema.
- Experience in teaching British Cinema and Contemporary American Cinema is desirable.
- Track record in filmmaking, and teaching filmmaking, in one or more of the following craft areas: screenwriting, directing, editing (e.g., AVID, Premier, DaVinci), producing, production design, sound, or cinematography.
- Track record of peer-reviewed research outputs and the ability to contribute to the Research Excellence Framework (REF).
- Experience of teaching at an undergraduate and postgraduate level and demonstrate abilities to adopt innovative pedagogic approaches to enhance students' learning experiences.
