We have an exciting role on offer within our Environment and Community Services team as an HGV Fleet Technician.
A fantastic opportunity is available for an experienced full-time Vehicle Technician to join our Fleet services team at Middlesbrough Council. The successful candidate will have a background in either HGV or Light Vehicle maintenance, performing inspections, breakdowns, repairs, and servicing, ensuring compliance with Ministry Transport standards on a diverse fleet of vehicles and plant operated by the Council and other agencies.
To succeed in this role, you need experience in vehicle maintenance, knowledge of health and safety at work, and the ability to work under time constraints with a flexible approach depending on departmental needs. You must be qualified to City and Guilds or equivalent. Additional training will be provided. A current Category B driving licence is required. A current MOT testing licence for vehicles class 4 & 7, with class 5 being desirable.
We operate a two-shift system, working alternate weeks: Monday to Thursday 7:00am - 3:00pm, Friday 7:00am - 2:30pm, and Monday to Thursday 9:00am - 5:00pm, Friday 9:00am - 4:30pm.
