Stores Operative Job Purpose: As a Store Operative, you will be part of the Aftermarket Stores team, responsible for coordinating overall warehouse operations to optimise pick-to-line-stage efficiency. You will also ensure storage areas meet Health and Safety regulations and uphold housekeeping standards. As a key member of the team, you should be capable of performing all warehouse duties effectively, stepping into any role when required. You will be expected to carry out your tasks to the required quality standards and help maintain the smooth operation of the department's processes.
Stores Operative Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all housekeeping activities within the Stores department to ensure consistently high standards are maintained.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely and efficient stillage rotation.
- Ensure hazardous materials are stored safely and in compliance with Health and Safety and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations.
- Use the NCR system and LIP transactions to report and resolve all material non-conformance issues on the line.
- Manage the delivery of line picks to stage according to vehicle build schedules, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
- Alert the Procurement Team of any potential shortages that could lead to production line stoppages.
- Assist in preparations for the bi-annual stock take.
- Support inventory and stock movement projects as required.
- Resolve queries related to goods inwards receiving and invoices.
- Process requisitions for production stock and consumables.
- Manage third-party orders and collections, including booking transportation.
- Complete and submit BOM (Bill of Materials) amendment forms to the BOM team.
- Conduct stock location management and perform daily PI (Perpetual Inventory) counts.
- Monitor and manage overflow stock locations and create new locations in line with picking stages to ensure efficient picking processes.
- Actively promote departmental improvements and process changes to enhance inter-departmental collaboration and operational efficiency.
